Man arrested after shots fired at homes in Dunoon, near Lismore, and a police car

A northern New South Wales man has been arrested following a slew of shootings in the states north overnight. NSW Police apprehended a 63-year-old man in Dunoon, approximately 20 kilometres south of the Northern Rivers hub of Lismore.
The man was arrested at a property on Rayward Road and taken to Lismore Police station, after reports of multiple gun firings.
At about 9pm on Saturday, authorities received calls of multiple shots fired at a home on Rayward Road.
As police rushed to the scene, further reports were made of more shots fired at separate homes on Rayward Road and Duncan Road.
Residents at the properties were inside at the time but were uninjured during the incident.
Police quickly set up an investigation when further shots were heard in the area, which were targeting police.
One police vehicle sustained significant damage in the alleged attack.
The tactical response unit, rescue, dog squad and the Queensland Police Air were deployed to assist in the pursuit.
At roughly midnight, the man was arrested by police and is assisting with ongoing investigations.
