Earlier this year, Digital Extremes added a new open world planet to their ninja flipping third-person looter shooter Warframe. The Infested moon of Deimos came loaded with lore, a new heavy mech that players can control instead of their Warframe, and open world challenges. The newest update is called Deimos: Arcana, and it further fleshes out the games spooky moon and its flowery inhabitants.
There are some new additions to the players arsenal. The Necramech is a slow, stompy alternative to Warframes usual lightning fast and lethal gameplay, giving players an extra choice. A new Necramech is also being added to the game, called Bonewidow. Bonewidow has extra armor and health, but fewer shields, and it carries a powerful sword. The Bonewidow and the original Necramech, the Voidrig, now vacuum up all the loot around it.
Deimos itself also has some new challenges. Players can now access new vault ruins, and players can pick up bounties and dig deep inside isolated vaults for new rewards. There are also new enemies called the Mitosid that act a little like Dead Spaces necromorphs; they can rip themselves in half to survive, so players have to be very precise when taking them down. For the more peaceful Warframe players, Deimos now has new beasts and fish that players can catch and trap.
The Deimos: Arcana update also eases the reputation grind with the planets Entrati family by allowing players to exchange extra resources from around Deimos for family tokens, which are used for reputation.
Deimos: Arcana includes lots of new items in the store, including a deluxe set of cosmetics for Gara and a ton of new weapons, like a rocket launcher that fires like a shotgun and a fleshy gun that stores ammo in its bladder. (The emptier the bladder, the more damage the Catabolyst does, which is neat!)
Deimos: Arcana went live on PC on Thursday, and will release on consoles in a future patch.
