A man will face court over the alleged murder on Friday of a woman whose body was found at a property 10 kilometres east of Nowra.
Louis Woodham, 37, was arrested near the Comerong Island Road home of Denise Brameld, 51, from Numbaa, whose body was found by her son after she was unable to be contacted.
Police and paramedics were called to the home at 11.20am on Friday and a crime scene was set up.
Mr Woodham was arrested after initial inquiries and he was taken to Nowra police station, where he was charged with murder. Police say he wasnt in a relationship with Ms Brameld.
Nowra Crime Manager Detective Inspector Scott Nelson told reporters on Friday the scene had been very confronting for first responders.
The investigation is in the very early stages and we have specialist forensic resources coming from Sydney and the homicide squad will also be assisting with inquiries, he said.
Inspector Nelson would not say what weapon had been used in the incident.
One friend, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Ms Brameld adored her family and had a beautiful soul.
She will be terribly missed by the community, the friend said. Its like losing a family member its that shocking.
