- This, after the actors admitted they had feelings for one another while playing onscreen loves, Ross and Rachel, in Friends.
- “We just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel,” Jennifer Aniston said during Friends: The Reunion.
Since Friends: The Reunion aired and David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston shared their real-life feelings for each other with the world, fans can’t help but wonder if the two have started up what could’ve been all these years later.
Closer quoted a source saying the A-listers have “been spending time at Jen’s home” – sending the internet into a frenzy.
“I sincerely hope every word of this ‘source’ is true,” one Twitter user wrote. “The only news that can save 2021.”
And it makes sense, doesn’t it? He’s always been her lobster.
A rep for Schwimmer, however, has crushed all our hopes and dreams, telling Elle UK the claims are “false”, as if we hadn’t been through enough already.
We’ll always hold out hope though, for the one where David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston get to live out their real-life romance.
“At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship,” David Schwimmer told host James Corden during the Friends: The Reunion. “We never crossed that boundary. We respected that.”
“I remember saying one time to David, ‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.’ Sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop. But we just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.”
Ah, the one that could’ve been.
