The ANC KwaZulu-Natal leadership will on Wednesday officially order former eThekwini mayor, Zandile Gumede and several other ANC KZN members facing criminal charges, to vacate their positions.
The provincial ANC leadership, which is in possession of a list of ANC KwaZulu-Natal members facing criminal charges, will inform the affected members to step aside from both their party and government positions in line with the ANC national executive commitment’s directive that party members who face criminal charges should either step down voluntarily, or face suspension.
ANC provincial spokesperson, Nhlakanipho Ntombela, confirmed that ANC KZN members facing criminal charges had been summoned to the party’s provincial offices in Durban.
