Tones and I plans to quit performing in four years

Aussie music sensation Tones and I has revealed that she plans to quit performing in four years. The singer, whose real name is Toni Watson, made the stunning announcement in an interview with Hit NSW’s Breakfast with Gawndy and Maz.
“I’m not touring at the moment and I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be Tones and I for,” the performer said. “I mean, realistically I’m going to give myself another four years and then I want to be a songwriter.”
Radio host Maz Compton replied: “So, you’re just giving Tones and I a four-year expiration?”
“Yeah I think so,” the four-time ARIA winner said.
Tones I and said in the future she wants to talk to continue to work with kids in schools, busk, direct film clips and write music not only for herself but also for films and other artists.
“I feel like this is a lot and I want to keep writing music,” she said. “As soon as my mental health isn’t wanting to do this I’m stopping, I’m not pushing through this.
“I want to be happy and right now I am but it can waiver and I wouldn’t continue it unless it was fulfilling me and making me happy,” she said.
Tones and I has previously spoken about how her mental health has suffered since finding fame.
Last year she told the Hit Network’s Tommy and Carrie: “There was a point when we were coming up to the ARIAs last year, I’d had huge success, and the next day I woke up and had this overwhelming sadness and not wanting to celebrate it.
“Not wanting to celebrate with my fans or on social media … as I thought it was a black hole of people that just wanted to bring you down.
“It took me a little bit after that to realise there’s so much good there, and to focus on the live performances.
“I was like, ‘Why am I not happy, this is meant to be exciting.’
“I had to switch my mind over and focus on those good things, because there are so many good things,” she said.
