Opening Segment Featuring Jimmy Uso
Jimmy Uso has arguably been the best performer in WWE since he returned. The fact that WWE is so set against Jimmy Uso challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship inside Hell in a Cell illustrates just how inept the promotion has become in telling stories.
Kevin Owens and Big E def. Sami Zayn and Apollo Crews
I was hoping wed get a self-aware, smart-aleck remark from Big E about starting a feud with the recently departed Aleister Black.
Poor Sami Zayn was blamed and will be replaced in next weeks tag team rematch of sorts, which will see Commander Azeez in Zayns place.
Carmella def. Liv Morgan
A cameraman tripped during this match and Pat McAfee covered for it brilliantly while putting over Carmella.
It initially seemed like WWE was building up Carmella for something, but this was just more 50/50 booking so, by design, I do not care about either of these women until further notice.
Carmella cares more about being the most beautiful woman in WWE than winning matches.
Seth Rollins Appears on Ding Dong, Hello!
Seth Rollins and Bayley did everything they could to get viewers to change the channel with their laughter.
When the doorbell rang a second time, it was obviously going to be a babyface, but I was hoping for some type of swerve like Postmates.
Bianca Belairs fake laughter is so much better than Bayleys.
Montez Ford def. Chad Gable by Disqualification
Otis looks so generic without a beard. Youd think Otis would learn his lesson alongside Chad Gable, who had to shave his wild mane before landing in oblivion.
As much as Im getting burnt out on outside interference finishes, it was really cool to see Otis look like a monster both backstage and ringside.
Shinsuke Nakamura def. Baron Corbin
Why wasnt Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin just a Best of Seven for the crown?
Michael Cole threw major shade against Baron Corbin when he compared Corbin fumbling his crown to the way he fumbles the football. Corbin was a former offensive lineman (they almost never touch the ball), and Pat McAfee did not let Cole get away with it.
Rey Mysterio Calls Out Roman Reigns
Its great to see Roman Reigns feud with a fully formed character who can promo, like Rey Mysterio, instead of the Cesaros of the world.
Jimmy Uso does such a great job acting the way men act when theyre about to fight. Backstage arguments are often overdone to cartoonish proportions, but Jimmy Uso felt like a powder keg waiting to explode.
Roman Reigns spent half of this main event walking to the ring.
The Reigns-Usos storyline has been good enough to replace WWE Main Event as an hourlong soap opera.
