Zlatan Ibrahimovic is crowned MVP of Cagliari-Milan by Italian sports papers, while Alexis Saelemaekers is being criticised for picking up two yellow cards in less than ten minutes.
The Swede started his first Serie A game since November and his brace allowed Milan to take all three points at the Sardegna Arena on Monday.
“He earned and converted the penalty kick that gave Milan the lead,” writes Il Corriere dello Sport.
“The second goal was magnificent, he only missed one chance, but won the duel with Diego Godin by a lot.”
La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport also praise the 39-year-old to the skies.
“He scored two goals and scared off his opponents. Cagliari must inspire him as he had scored his first goal in his second spell at Milan here at the Sardegna Arena,” writes the pink paper.
Alexis Saelemaekers, on the other hand, is rated 4/10 by each one of the three Italian sports papers as he was booked twice in the space of eight minutes.
“He could have avoided the fouls on Zappa and Ceppitelli, he apologised with his teammates in the locker room,” writes La Gazzetta.
